Environmental Engineering
BLDI engineers use business-oriented processes to attain client goals.

BLDI integrates risk-based approaches into the feasibility analysis to assure the most cost-effective alternative is assessed and selected site cleanups and closures. BLDI also understands and appreciates the limitations inherent in Michigan's Part 201 Remedial Action Plan process, especially the use of restrictive covenants. In support of business transactions, BLDI works with the client and their advisors develop and utilize environmental escrows and insurance products for risk sharing and transfer.

The Importance of In-House Design Staff

Unlike all too many environmental firms, BLDI is somewhat unique in that we have licensed professionals on-staff to conduct feasibility studies and corrective and remedial action programs. BLDI engineers, supported by our geology staff, use risk-based methods to assess closure alternatives and design soil or groundwater remediation systems in-house. BLDI's knowledge and experience in various remediation technologies helps assure that the selected remedy actually achieves the desired results.

Not only does BLDI understand remediation system design and operation, but has extensive experience in the actual construction of these systems. BLDI staff have the requisite state operating licenses to operate the selected remedy. This design, install and operate program provides our staff with unique insights into how well the designed systems operate and the "true" cost of the remedial alternative. Further, our peer review work provides further insight into the success of remedial programs.
