The minimization of the use of resources to produce a product is a simple business practice that minimizes waste and cost. BLDI believes in reducing our environmental footprint through the application of practical resource minimization practices.

As part of our resource impact minimization program, BLDI has completed the following in the past two years:

• Replaced our building’s roof to increase our overall energy efficiency.
• Replaced our building’s heating plant.

These two capital improvements have reduced our energy usage by over 50%. At the same time as we reduced our energy usage we also increased our overall building comfort due to improved ventilation.

As we move to the future, we have a goal of increasing our fleet energy efficiency by 20% from 2006 to 2010.
